ABOUT SANCTUARY
SANCTUARY Virtual Strip Club was conceptualized by veteran stripper and event producer Andre Shakti in March 2020. As a devoted advocate for the sex industry, Andre — who lost 85% of her income within the first week of March due to COVID-19 — observed the way the novel coronavirus disproportionately impacted sex workers on a financial level. This was due to the physically intimate nature of the industry in addition to the United States government unconstitutionally withholding relief funds from “businesses of a prurient sexual nature.” Andre also heard from strippers all over the country about how much they missed their customers and their clubs in addition to the missed wages. Thus, SANCTUARY was born!
ABOUT ANDRE SHAKTI

Andre Shakti (she/her) is a queer—white—cisgender—polyamorous educator, activist, performer and professional slut based in Baltimore, MD. Andre is a sex industry veteran with 16+ years of international experience as a stripper, porn performer, dominatrix and intimate companion under her belt. She is a highly sought-after industry consultant, event producer, programming facilitator and all around good time gal. With a strong public health background, Andre has graduated from multiple sex educator certification programs and has penned several sex and relationship advice columns – most notably, I Am Poly(amorous) & So Can You! (2016-2020). She helmed Sanctuary Virtual Strip Club (2020-2022), a weekly LGBTQ+ nightclub experience, and was subsequently honored as one of OUT Magazine’s Top 100 (2021).
